Sanja Anastasia – Mezzo Soprano

Sanja Anastasia studied music at the University of Music and performing Arts in Graz and Vienna. In the year 2000/01 she received the scholarship of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Science in Austria, in 2005 she received her master degree. She won numerous inter-national singing competitions. In the season 2008/09 Sanja Anastasia made her debut at the Theater Aachen in Germany, at the National Theater Košice (Slovakia) and the National Opera Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina), since then, she has been a permanent guest artist there. In the season 2011/12 Anastasia became a member of State Theatre Mainz and a guest singer at the State Theater Saarbrücken, she sang Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera at Theater Basel and Carmen at Sarajevo National Opera. In 2013 she debuted as Princess of Eboli in Verdi’s “Don Carlo” at the Theater Lübeck, Germany. From summer 2013 Sanja Anastasia is in several productions at the Arena di Verona in Italy for roles like Amneris in Aida, Carmen, Fenena in Nabucco, Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera.. She successfuly cele-brated the 100-aniversary of Arena Festival as Fenena in “Nabucco” next to Placido Do-mingo in the title role under the button of maestro Julian Kovatchev and as Amneris in “Ai-da” under the button of Maestro Daniel Oren.

In 2014 she was La Principessa di Bouillon in Adriana Lecouvreur at Opera Lombardia and appeared successfully as Carmen at the Aspendos Festival in the Turkey with Istanbul Opera and conducted by Antonio Pirolli and at Openair Festival in Steyr, Austria. She sung Amneris at the Openair Festival Gars am Kamp and in Salzburg Grosses Festpielhaus with Prag State Opera in Austria and at the La Perla Festival in the Switzerland. In April 2015 Anastasia is Amneris for Sugi Opera Seoul Arts Center where in April 2016 she performed Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera. In season 2015/2016 she is Amneris in Aida in the copro-duction of Aida at Teatro Sociale of Rovigo, Teatro Verdi of Pisa, Teatro Goldoni of Livorno – directed by Franco Zeffirelli/ Stefano Trespidi conducted by Marco Boemi and Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera at Konzert Theater of Bern. In Fall 2016 she is Amneris at Teatro Coccia of Novara conducted by Matteo Beltrami directed by P. Gavazzeni e P. Maranghi ( recor-ded in DVD for Sky Classica), she performed the same role at Teatru Astra of Gozo – Malta in October 2016. In December 2016 she is Carmen for Sugi Opera at Seoul Art Center. In 2017 she is Amneris in Aida at Tbilisi National Opera, Ulrica in Un Ballo in Maschera at Innsbruck Landestheater, La Principessa di Bouillon in Adriana Lecouvreur at Karlsruhe Opera, Carmen at Pravets Festival in Bulgaria and at Dionysia Opera Festival of Corfù, Azucena in Trovatore for OperaEstate Festival at Bassano Del Grappa, Eboli in Don Carlo at Sofia National Opera and in Stara Zagora Opera and Carmen in Ruse Opera House. In October 2018 she will be Amneris in Aida for Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation conducted by Andrea Battistoni.
