Reda El Wakil

Bass-Baritone of the Cairo Opera Company since the inauguration of the new Cairo Opera House. He obtained his Doctorate Degree in singing from the Cairo Conservatoire after returning from France, where he was granted a scholarship at “Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris”.There he obtained the Concertist Diploma. Reda played the main bass roles of numerous operas, like La Boheme, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, Les Pecheurs de Perles, Carmen, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il Trovatore, Aida, Rigoletto, La Traviata, The Magic Flute, as well as Ramfis and Il Re in the international productions of “Aida” .

*Placido Domingo Competition in Paris (1st Prize), 1994.
*International Competition of Paris (4th Prize), 1994.
*International Competition of Toulouse (1st Price and Public Prize), 1994.
State Merit Award in Egypt, 1994.
