Carlos Almaguer


He is considered as one of the most important voices of dramatic baritone to-day. Born in Mexico D.F. where he learned to play different musical instruments and started his singing studies with Maestro Francisco Amador. He was awarded on the Francisco Viñas Competition in Barcellona with a scholarship in Siena – Italy.

In Spain he met the great baritone Vicente Sardinero who became his teacher of sing-ing and vocal training.

His international career transpired in a spectacular way in the best stages in the world, in countries like Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Greece, Rumania, Bulgaria, Australia, Switzerland, Hungary, China, Israel, London, Chile, United States of America, England, Ireland, Netherlands, France, Korea, Denmark, Costa Rica, Russia etc. interpreting the most representative roles in the international lyric written for his tessitura.

Among the awards he received is the Award of Critics of artists, journalists and mu-sicians from Mexico and La Medalla Dr. Alfonso Ortíz Tirado en Alamos Sonora, México. Among his recent engagements Tonio in Pagliacci and Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana at Opera de Toulon, Scarpia in Tosca at Opera de Nice, Giorgio Germont in La Traviata and Nabucco at Polish National Opera of Warsaw, Nabucco at Sofia Opera, Amonasro in Aida in Arena of Verona 2017.
